  • Pick foliage from the garden and add to your bouquets but remember to strip the stems of all leaves that might go under the water level
  • Mix shades and tones together of the same colour for a softer blended look
  • Keep exotic flowers simple. They look best by themeselves and not mixed with flora and fauna from the herbacious border
  • Always recut stems before putting into water
  • Change water reguarly to prevent bacteria building up which might shorten the life of the flower
  • Freshen roses and gerberas by plunging their stems into boiling water for 20 seconds
